The Calypso was built in the USA in 1942 as a mine sweeper. She was bought by Jacques-Yves Costeau, and after extensive changes became a fully equipped ocean research vessel complete with observation chamber, oval diving bell, Galaezzi diving chamber, inflatable boat for shallow waters, helicopter and much more. The kit has an ABS plastic hull with wooden superstructure, and is ideal for radio control.  Suitable for the specialist modeller.

The Smit Nederland built in 1979, powered by two 'Stork Werkspoor' diesel engines enabled a top speed of 12 knots. The original vessel has propellors which are equipped with reversible blades and two basin rudders which ensiure good manoeverablitiy.
The kit is constructed of an ABS plastic hull with wooden superstructure, designed for radio control, and suitable for the experienced modeller.
