The polycarbonate bodyshells used with most R/C cars incorporate strength and flexibility in order to protect the chassis underneath. Consequently the paint used to finish the shell needs to have the same qualities.
Enamel and normal acrylic based paint dries rigid and will crack and fall off, whilst cellulose based paint tends to react with the polycarbonate material of the shell.
Nevertheless there are a number of different makes of paint manufactured for this purpose, our favourite range is produced by 'Pactra'.
This paint can be bought as an aerosol can with a medium spray, or in a jar as a brush on colour or for use with airbrushes. Only use Pactra Thinners to thin this paint or to clean your equipment after use.
