| SC Top Performance Marine Engines ABC and peak power The all important piston and liner is ABC in most of the 2-strokes giving the best fit and performance available in any model engine. The piston is aluminium (A), the liner is brass (B), tapered, and its surface is coated with chrome (C). The ABC is designed to give the perfect fit for ultimate power when the engine is run in and up to speed. The tapered conical liner used in the ABC set up gives the engine a "nip" when turned over top dead centre - some engines appear to be very tight indeed, and quite often these are the best ones.
