It gives you the ability to transfer model memories from transmitter to transmitter, in other words memories can be copied from Tx to CAMPac and CAMPac to Tx.  Mode 1 to Mode 4 set-ups is automatically corrected with this transfer which means that you can quickly set up on your transmitter and fly a fellow pilots model that is on another mode.

This transfer feature is very useful when you need to get your radio system serviced.  In order to test computer radios the whole system is reset inevitably clearing all of the memories and set-ups.  This can be overcome by downloading your settings to a CAMPac and restoring them when your system is returned.

CAMPacs also give you a number of additional model memories depending upon the capacity you buy.  For example a FF8 has 8 model memories as standard.  If you purchased the 64K CAMPac you will get and extra 33 model memories.
